The PCBTrain has arrived!

That’s right everyone, after a few weeks of tense waiting and software writing the first version of the PCBs have finally arrived so let’s have a peek inside the box.

PCBTrain Delivery

“I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it…”

"...Are you mad? You don't know the power of Styrofoam!"

They were certainly well packed wich is nice to see.

So this is what we’ve been waiting for and they certainly look the part, then again, they cost the part too and that was for a 15 working day turn around!

Anyway, that’s not an issue right now, we’re going to be building them up soon and putting them through their paces. We know they won’t be perfect because we’ve already spotted two problems with them but neither are major and we’re just hoping there aren’t any others. The first one we noticed is the missing “Register B” from the silk screen on the Register B board and then a, slightly harder to spot, missing connection on the ALU board that routes the carry out from the adder chips to the ALU control port expander.

That’s all for now, it was just a quick update to show you the new shinies!
